We’re all familiar with the Cambie and its great drink specials, however, most of us have yet to become familiar with their new $5 bang for the buck menu.
The $5 bang for your buck menu runs daily from 11am-6 pm—so if you’re in the neighborhood and in the mood for some cheap eating and drinking, you won’t have to look much further than the Cambie.
**I was pleasantly surprised to find out that all the food is made fresh in-house.
We had the chance to try a fair amount of their dishes. However, there were two that really stood out from the crowd.
1. Sausage on a Bun
This was my favorite dish on the menu. The flavor combo of the Italian sausage along with the roasted red peppers and sautéed onions made quite the statement. It was served with a German potato salad that was also tasty.
**Please note that this was a sampler platter (not offered on the regular menu). Take note of the sausage in a bun on the far right and the German salad alongside. Regular sizes are much different– and although they can’t be properly represented in this post, they are large enough to be very filling.
2. Pulled Pork Taco
The pulled pork taco was very comforting. The pork was tender and played along nicely with the freshness of the pico de gallo. My favorite part of the dish, though, was the rosemary fries. The subtle rosemary flavour made such a difference. It’s nice to see that little extra love put into a dish.
