Thanks for stopping by! I’m Romina, the small girl behind the big plate. I hope you’ll enjoy this blog. She has been a loyal outlet for all things food related in the last 5 years.

A little about me :
I’m a self-taught cook/photographer originally from Deep Cove, Vancouver.  Two  three years ago,  I picked up my cooking utensils and moved to Wroclaw, Poland.  Since then, I’ve been busy learning about Eastern European cuisine and culture.

When I’m not cooking or taking pictures of food or writing about food—I’m a hungry doctor in the making. I am currently a third  fourth  year MD student and grateful to be living life loving what I do and doing what I love.

I hope to soon collaborate my love of food and
medicine into one tasty concoction.

If you have any comments, questions, or recipe
requests please feel free to contact me… in the
meantime, LETS EAT!

  1. Hi Romina,

Congrats on starting your blog.and welcome to cyberspace– definitely a lot of work but also totally fun and addictive:)…I think your blog looks great and your recipes look awesome! Don’t forget to use Twitter and Facebook for micro-blogging. I love you so much!

  2. Just came across the blog Romina.

Absolutely love it! I’ve been sitting here for at least an hour going through it all and bookmarking your recipes which will soon become hot plates in front of me. You’re a wicked writer and clearly have good taste (literally).

    Keep up the good work,
    Grant.

  3. Natasha!

Thank you for your comment. It was truly my pleasure to have catered your event. You were a great crowd to serve! PS I emailed you that Hummus recipe I had promised 🙂

    Hopefully see you soon!

  4. Romina; Thankyou so much for taking the time to send me healthy granola receipe’s. I love my terra bread granola but wow it is loaded with calories.
I have been a serious cook for many years and just recently am trying more vegan/vegetarian. It’s hard as I love this time of year cooking braised meats & drinking bold reds.
I have travelled so much throughout Europe but never Poland. I plan to in the near future as my Grandparens were born there. A country steeped in history.
Take care. Happy cooking and studying. All the best to you!

    1. Hi Colleen! So sorry for my late response. Thanks for your kind words ! I have a healthy Peanut Butter Granola Bar recipe on this blog that I love to make. It’s not loaded with too many calories either! Oh, you MUST go to Poland- you will love it !
      Take care 🙂

  5. Hi Romina

My name is Joel Fernandes and we are organizing a culinary market in May 22, 29 and June 5 at Creek side Community Center. We would love to work with you to promote our local community event and invite you to out. This is a not for profit event.

    Our mission:
We believe in Family Wellness and empowering families and small businesses, who more often than not are family run as well. This is the heart of our community.

We accomplish this by educating and providing the tools and networking opportunities to do so.
By providing a social platform which gives them an opportunity to learn and experiment through experience and more importantly share their love and passion for what they do by personally interacting with the community.

Thank you very much for time and consideration and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Best Regards

    Joel Fernandes
    Event Coordinator
