Holy, I’ve been so MIA for a whole month! I’m so sorry! If you’ve been keeping up with my Instagram, I’m sure you’ve had a good idea what I’ve been up to. If not, let me give you a quick rap. I was in Vancouver for two months and spent a whole month of it at the Vancouver General Hospital, shadowing as a medical student in the Geriatrics department. From there I was busy eating and blogging through Vancity and then flew to Stockholm to do some more blogging and also a bit of work in the hospital too. Its been a summer jammed with a lot of medicine and food—my kind of perfect.
We live in one of the most expensive cities in the world—and going out to eat has become horrendously expensive. With tax and tip – it’s no wonder why so many of us Vancouverites are living paycheque to paycheque. However, in this ritzy little city of ours, there are often times affordable restaruant deals. Take for example Hapa Izakaya—one of Vancouver’s favourite Japanese tapas restaurant that takes part in Hapa Hour—where many of their best menu items are on for about half the price.
Who would’ve known—but The Charles Bar serves brunch, every Sunday too! Through word of mouth, we headed there this morning to check it out.
Ten Ten Tapas is a fairly new restaurant situated in a truly beautiful part of Downtown Vancouver: Beach Avenue. Their focus is on West Coast Tapas—meaning you can find anything from casual favorites like yam fries to pan seared duck breast with jaimca.
