Ten Ten Tapas

Ten Ten Tapas is a fairly new restaurant situated in a truly beautiful part of Downtown Vancouver: Beach Avenue. Their focus is on West Coast Tapas—meaning you can find anything from casual favorites like yam fries to pan seared duck breast with jaimca.

Besides the stunning location I found the food to be refreshingly thoughtful. I also had an overall general appreciation for the fact that the chef wasn’t afraid to play around with risky flavour combinations; Strawberry chutney along side the scallops, jalapeño and blue cheese stuffed portobello mushrooms. The list goes on.

To begin, we enjoyed the Crostini Platter. Bruschetta, Avocado & Blue Cheese & Smoked Salmon and Gruyere. They were all worth ordering but the Blue Cheese and Avocado was truly unbelievable.

I love when just a few simple ingredients can deliver such large results.

Next up with the Poached Saffron Salmon.

The Salmon was perfectly cooked and melted straight in my mouth. I found the saffron to be a little too subtle for my liking. The fennel was a nice addition to the dish.

A must have item was the “Stuffed Organic Beef Meetaballs”. They were better than my grandmas- and probably yours too.


Just as worth ordering was the Pipita Shrimp and Scallops. They were pumpkin seed encrusted and served upon a beautiful strawberry chutney.

If you want to end the night with something sweet—then try the Coconut Cream Pie Cocktail. Life changing.

My overall impression of Ten Ten was very positive. Excellent location, thoughtful food and a passionate chef.
